19th Amendment Centennial Events | National Archives

In commemoration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, this free, two-day virtual conference, offered by the Kennedy Library on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 28, 2020, will explore the history of the suffrage movement and how efforts to broaden voting rights have evolved over time.

Archivist of the United States David Ferriero and Deputy Archivist of the United States Debra Steidel Wall will introduce sessions that will explore the origins and development of suffrage efforts as well as contemporary voting rights issues. Sessions will include:

Voting is a key element in civic participation and Election Day - November 3rd - is less than two weeks away! From the campaign trail, to the Electoral College, to the expansion of voting rights throughout American history, the National Archives (NARA) has new resources available for teaching about elections and voting.
