  • Face Coverings

In geographic areas determined to be of HIGH viral transmission, as determined by the CDC COVID-19 Data Tracker, masks are to be worn at all times while inside the facility. Face coverings are permitted, but not required, in MEDIUM and LOW community levels.

The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is currently in an area of LOW community transmission. Visitors are not required to wear a face covering, but may choose to do so if they wish. Visitors must provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Face coverings must be appropriate, even when worn voluntarily, and must not include offensive messages or logos.

When face coverings are required, face coverings must be worn so that they completely cover the nose, mouth, and chin at all times, fit snugly with no large gaps around the sides of the face, and otherwise follow CDC recommendations for masks or respirators.

Appropriate face coverings fit properly and comfortably, are made of multiple layers of tightly woven, breathable fabric, and include a nose wire. Face coverings must not include exhalation valves, vents, or other openings. Novelty and non-protective masks are not permitted. Scarves, ski masks, gaiters, and balaclavas are not acceptable face coverings. When face coverings are required, face shields may be worn with, but not instead of, face coverings.

    Physical Distancing

NARA continues to require facility occupants (except for museum visitors in pods) to maintain 6-foot physical distancing, to the extent possible, while in NARA facilities in MEDIUM and HIGH community levels.

The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is currently at a LOW community level. Physical distancing is recommended.

    Enhanced Cleaning Measures

The Museum is conducting enhanced cleanings of the museum and high-touch areas.  Hand sanitizer is available throughout the museum.

The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is located in Yorba Linda, California and houses the Nixon Presidential Materials (textual, photographs, sound, and moving images), Nixon White House Tapes, Nixon pre- and post-Presidential Materials, as well as the Museum, Birthplace, and Helicopter.

The National Archives in College Park maintains reference copies of Nixon White House Tapes. These are duplicative of material available for research in Yorba Linda.
