New Education Resources - Teaching the Holocaust

Dear Educators,

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum closed on March 13, 2020, until further notice. The Education and Public Programs Team at the Nixon Library is pleased to remind you that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) continues to be an excellent source for entertaining content, historical research, and instructional needs! Simply follow the links below for additional information:

Teaching the Holocaust

The United Nations recognizes January 27, 2021, as International Holocaust Day of Remembrance. The National Archives, in partnership with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), recently assembled information featuring historical documents on U.S. immigration and refugee policy during World War II and the Holocaust that can be used in your classroom. Through primary resources via DocsTeach and additional resources from the USHMM, your students can learn to analyze selected documents from our holdings as well as explore a multitude of other features such as exploring audio and visual recordings and viewing online exhibits. Examples can be found below:

Telegram from Passengers on the Ship Quanza to Eleanor Roosevelt, 9/10/1940. General Visa Correspondence, 1914 - 1949;General Records of the Department of State. Record Group 59; National Archives at College Park, College Park, MD.
