On June 13, 1971, the New York Times began publishing the “Pentagon Papers,” an illegally leaked, top-secret Department of Defense study written to recount and analyze America’s involvement in the Vietnam War from 1945 through 1967. The public debate over the contents and President Nixon's private determination to prevent future leaks, ultimately shaped an era and doomed an administration.
Forty years later, we invite the public to see the officially declassified documents on display in our museum, available for study in our research room, and fully available online.
