19th Amendment Commemoration

Drive By and Take a Look!

The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is proud to participate in the national Forward Into Light campaign that commemorates the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women's constitutional right to vote.

"Forward through the Darkness, Forward into Light." is the historic suffrage slogan of the 19th Amendment which was certified on August 26, 1920.  From August 18-26, the Nixon Library, along with many state capitals and national landmarks, will be illuminated in the colors of the Women's Suffrage and 19th Amendment Victory flags. These colors, Gold, White, Violet (GWV) represented the acronym for "Give Women the Vote."
