FG 999 PROPOSED DEPARTMENTS-AGENCIES-BOARDS-COMMISSIONS

Included in the Executive files of category FG 999 are topics that propose the establishment of several social and economic government agencies, boards, and commissions at the federal level, and to a lesser extent, the state and local levels as well. There are also proposals for the establishment of commissions that deal with the war in Vietnam. Among the more prominent topics of this subcategory are the Federal Center City Bicentennial Development Corporation, the Consumer Protection Agency, the Federal Insurance Guaranty Administration, the Export-Import Bank Discount Loan Corporation, the President's Advisory Commission on Youth, a Commission to investigate campus violence and disorders, the Rural Affairs Council, a commission on non-public school education, the National Commission on Olympic Games, a civilian commission to study the My Lai incident, a commission concerning MIAs and POWs, and a congressional committee to investigate the causes and origins of U.S. involvement in Vietnam.
