Suited for Space takes you on a journey through nearly a century of spacesuit design and development, from the earliest high-altitude pressure suits to the iconic white suits of Apollo and Skylab. Relive the uncertain days of NASA’s first forays into space and the triumphs of the lunar landings. Examine unusual details of every suit in the stunning images taken by National Air and Space Museum staff photographer Mark Avino, and be amazed at the x- rays showing never-before-seen interior construction. Get up close and personal with objects and artifacts, and take a photograph of yourself “wearing” an Apollo suit. Suited for Space was organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) in partnership with the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. Generous support was provided by DuPont.
