FG 6-26 FEDERAL ENERGY OFFICE

FG 6-26 contains materials pertaining to the Federal Energy Office (FEO), which was established within the Executive Office of the President by Executive Order 11748 effective December 4, 1973. It was created to bring together in one agency the major energy functions of the Federal Government and to provide centralized authority. It was abolished and its functions were transferred to the Federal Energy Administration by Executive Order 11790 of June 15, 1974. Principal correspondents include, among others, the President, Frank G. Zarb, William E. Simon, John C. Sawhill, Robert D. Linder, Peter M. Flanigan, Michael Raoul-Duval, Staff Secretary, Max L. Friedersdorf, Jerry Jones, and other White House executives.

The types of documents filed under FG 6-26 are original incoming letters and memoranda; carbons and electrostatic copies of outgoing letters and memoranda; transmittal notes; press releases; pamphlets; Executive Orders; and cross references to other subject files.

The Executive file contains material concerning the organization, administration, policies and programs of the Federal Energy Office.
