Related documents are also contained in the Name File and Staff Member and Office Files in the White House Central Files and in the White House Special Files.

The documents are arranged in two groups of folders. The first group, consisting of ten folders coded FG 20, Department of Agriculture, contains items pertaining to the work of the USDA in general. Subsequent folders, beginning with EX FG 20-1, Secretary and Staff Officials, and ending with EX FG 20-14, Rural Telephone Bank, contain documents pertaining to individual agencies within the USDA. Each folder is labeled with the name of the USDA agency to which its documents pertain.

The terms Executive (EX) and General (GEN) precede each of the file designations. These terms are used by the White House Central Files to indicate separation of documents according to source. Executive items include communications among national, foreign, and state and local governments and their agencies, members of Congress, and selected prominent correspondents. General items designate communications between government officials and private citizens, institutions, and private interest groups. Where "/A" follows a numeric file designation, it indicates files relating to appointments, nominations, and resignations.
