The White House Communications Agency (WHCA) Videotape Collection contains "off-the-air" recordings of televised programs produced between 1968 and 1974.

  • The 4,087 broadcast quality two inch quadruplex videotape recordings comprise 3,900 hours of playing time.


The file includes:

  • comprehensive coverage of President Nixon's appearances on national television
  • appearance by members of the Nixon Administration
  • segments of national network news telecasts relating to the Nixon Administration
  • special news reports
  • scheduled public affairs broadcasts
  • coverage of all of the televised proceedings of the Senate Select Committee on Watergate ("The Ervin Committee") and the House Judiciary Committee Hearings on Impeachment
